This is a two-day workshop:
Saturday, March 8th - 10:30am-3:30pm and
Saturday, March 15th - 1-:30am-2:30pm
In this two-part workshop, students will learn various folded book structures and get an introduction to screen printing.
In session 1, students will learn how to create maze-fold and map-fold structured books, learning best practices for folding paper along the way. They will also learn how to draw films for silkscreen with one of these structures in mind.
In session 2, students will learn how to expose their design onto a screen and print multiples, resulting in prints that they can fold into an edition of books!
Both class sessions include a lunch/snack break.
All class materials will be provided. No prior experience required.
Instructor: Hannah Moog
Hannah Moog is an artist and illustrator based in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with a BFA in General Fine Arts and a minor in Book Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2021. Hannah works in a variety of mediums to bring her whimsical characters into the physical world, often utilizing book arts and garments to do so. She makes humorous, intimate and interactive work with the intention of immersing her audience in her imagined world full of mysterious but caring characters. Her work is influenced by folk art, quilting traditions and hugs.
