October Screen Printing Fun

Saturday, October 8th from noon- 2 PM

Join us for another spook-tastic Halloween themed PECO class focusing on Spiders! Students will utilize screen printing to create individual pieces as well as a large collaborative group project. Learn fun facts about those fuzzy eight legged party arachnids and help us spin some Halloween fun.

Screen Printing and Carnival Rides!

Get Ready for Fun at the Arts Carnival
on Saturday, September 10th from 11am to 7pm

Screen print and decorate flags to show your South Kensington Pride!
Hosted by Philadelphia Photo Arts Center and presented in conjunction with the Philly Block Project, the Arts Carnival will present a day of food trucks, fun and games, rides, and art-making.

Join us for a Screen Printing Party!

Thursday, August 11th from 3-9 PM

Second State Press, along with our neighbors, members, and supporters, will be hand printing fabric napkins for the American Street Feast. Kids from John Moffet Elementary School and Al-Aqsa Islamic Academy have been working with neighborhood artist Lisa Volta and Jenn McTague of Second State Press to create the design. Join us on Thursday, August 11th from 3-9 PM to help with the printing and learn about the process. This event is FREE and OPEN TO ALL!

Second Annual Second Saturday Family Exhibition + Celebration

June 11th from Noon-2 PM

Bring your family & friends! Join us for an opening reception featuring the artwork of participants in our PECO Second Saturdays program. We will also be screen printing and building a giant play house for all to enjoy!

PECO Second Saturdays at Second State Press is our FREE public program that brings families and youth to collaborate, engage and create works of art together around various community themes!

Second State Press is a nonprofit 501(c)3 communal printmaking workshop whose mission is to foster the development of ideas and innovation in printmaking by providing artists with a professional, affordable, and supportive workspace. SSP has a diverse member base and this is reflected in the prints selected. The work will be on view through the end of May.
